Running2Resonate is based in Hillingdon, Middlesex in the UK . It originated from a simple idea thought up by Dan about creating a running community that meets every couple of months or so to connect like minded people to unwind, de-stress, have some fun and explore some local Trails. Nothing too serious or pretentious. No metric chasing or racing - just appreciating our wonderful surroundings and each others company. The Trails detailed on this site are ideal for those looking at something a bit different from your typical 5k or 10k road runs. It's about feeling the dirt underneath your feet and putting your body through some inclines and feeling the rush of the downhills. Plus, it's a great way of mixing up anyone's running sessions. These Trails are led and organised by Dan and his brother Joe who admit to being modest amateur trail runners but have nonetheless discovered a new passion in the trails.
Running2Resonate genuinely wants to be that catalyst for absolutely anyone who wants to give Trail Running a go. There is a common perception out there that Trails are best suited for ultrarunners or experienced long distance runners. However, we hope to change and challenge this view. Does this resonate with you?
"I started running about 4 years ago just to regain some basic fitness after becoming a father of 2 energetic boys. I gradually moved from a 5k distance, to a 10k, then surprisingly to a half marathon. I completed my first marathon, the Thames Meander in August 2021 and I've also done a number of half marathons including the 40th Great North Run in September 2021. I must confess I hated the first couple of years of running until I decided to get off the road and gave the Trails a go. I instantly fell in love with Trail Running after feeling the rush and speed of going downhill whilst on an organised Trail in the South Downs. I am amazed at how many stunning Trails are out there in and around London. I have a few favourites and now I want to share them with you."
Dan is a member of the Trade Running Association and England Athletics and in 2022 successfully completed the Brighton Marathon in April, The Goring Gap 50k in May and most recently The Monster 50k, Windsor to Richmond in July 2022. He will be participating in the London Big Half with Joe on 4th September and is also training for the Beachy Head Trail Marathon on 22nd October 2022.
"My initial views about running had always been - why would I want to do that? And the thought of running 'for fun' was never something I would have previously considered. It was only through Dan's enthusiasm and seeing the benefits running was having on him that I started running around my local park and signed up to a 5K park run in June 2019 - from that point on point d being 1 stone lighter, the running bug caught me. In 2021 I completed a couple of half marathons and a full marathon (Thames Meander). I find trail running, especially the constant changes in elevation, helps me move closer to my running goals"
I'm hoping to go sub-2 hour for The Big Half in London in September 2022.
Both Dan and Joe are fully trained in the ITC Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid.
